Some more work done for StarWars IX : The Rise Of Skywalker as a senior Environment Generalist during my time at ILM Vancouver.
Spoiler Alert !
At the end of the movie, Rey is destroying darth Sidious which results in quite a a mess in Exegol's arena.
On this sequence my job was first to create highres procedural model of grandstands, hero ground, and consider the destruction into the model. But also matching the textures to the elements in the plate.
Also destroyed The ceilling for some shots.
Then alongside with @Mickael Riciotti and @Stanislaw Marek we destroyed and upgrades a lot of assets (statues, walls, debris...) coming from the "clean" arena model, to dress the shots in clarisse.
To help on this sequence I developed a workflow to break assets, sculpting upres, UV and texture this assets consistantly. My generalist friends then could re-use this workflow for their own model, tweak it if needed.
Didn't work on set dressing, lighting, comp side of this sequence. Big shout out to Mickael and Stan for the final look !
That was definitely a lot of fun working on this sequence with such a small awesome team at ILM Vancouver and Jeffrey De Guzman generalist Supervision. Don't miss his interview about ILM Vancouver Clarisse workflow https://youtu.be/rha_iiszdtw
