STAR WARS - The Rise Of Skywalker / Redspace Environment

Some work done for StarWars IX : The Rise Of Skywalker as a senior Environment Generalist during my time at ILM Vancouver.

One of my mission was to figure out a look for "The Red space". This is a constantly changing environment , aiming to keep Exegol and Darth Sidious location a secret.

In that regard it was a very challenging concept to develop as the environment animation should fit the momentum of the spaceship animation, and convey a feeling of danger. The idea was that nobody could survive in such a place without the pathfinder.

I developed the look of all the models under the supervision of generalist Supervisor Jeffrey DeGuzman. Worked in collaboration with Lead generalist Tadeusz Chmiel to develop the final look of the shots.

In the listed shot I took care of the lighting and provided first comp environment pass for compositing artists.
That was definitely a lot of fun working on this sequence with such a small team at ILM Vancouver.
